STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich., Oct. 2, 2026 — Katrina Manetta, Democratic candidate for Michigan’s 58th State House District, today announced endorsements from Michigan United Action, the IAM Michigan State Council of Machinists, and Her Bold Move.
The three endorsements bring together support from grassroots organizers, union members, and a national organization dedicated to expanding women’s representation in elected office.
Michigan United Action is a statewide organization focused on building political power through community organizing, civic engagement, and leadership development. The organization has been active in voter engagement, election protection, and campaigns centered on justice, equity, and opportunity across Michigan.
The IAM Michigan State Council of Machinists, also known as the Michigan Machinists Council, represents skilled trades workers in automotive, aerospace, defense, transportation, and other industries. In its endorsement letter, the council wrote that Manetta “understands the working class” and emphasized her ability to give working people a voice.
Her Bold Move is a national organization that supports women running for political office and works to increase women’s representation at every level of government. Founded in 2020, the organization says it has supported hundreds of women candidates across more than 40 states. Its endorsement process evaluates candidates’ campaigns, platforms, and plans for winning office.
“I’m deeply grateful to have the support of Michigan United Action, the Michigan Machinists Council, and Her Bold Move,” Manetta said. “These organizations come from different parts of the political and civic world, but they share something important: a belief that everyday people deserve a real voice in the decisions that shape their lives.”
“As a service worker and community organizer, I know what it feels like when working people are treated as an afterthought,” Manetta continued. “I’m running to bring that lived experience to Lansing and make sure the people making decisions understand what families here are actually dealing with, from the cost of living to good jobs, safe communities, and strong schools.”
Manetta has spent the last decade working as a server and has built her campaign around lowering costs for families, protecting workers’ ability to organize and bargain collectively, strengthening public safety and education, and making state government more accountable to the people it serves. Her background as a lifelong Macomb County resident, service worker, and community organizer has been central to the campaign’s focus on practical solutions rooted in local experience.
Michigan’s 58th House District includes parts of Sterling Heights, Warren, Utica and Shelby Township and is widely considered one of the most competitive districts in the state.
