Local and state leaders endorse Katrina Manetta for Michigan’s 58th House district

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich., March 24, 2026 — Today, Katrina Manetta, candidate for Michigan’s 58th House District, announced a new round of endorsements from respected leaders across Macomb County and Michigan, including State Senators Stephanie Chang and Veronica Klinefelt, Sterling Heights Councilman and former State Representative Henry Yanez, and Warren City Council Vice President Melody Magee.

The endorsements highlight growing support for Manetta’s campaign and her focus on practical solutions, strong communities, and leadership that shows up for people.

State Senator Veronica Klinefelt emphasized the importance of steady, effective leadership.

“I’m proud to endorse Katrina Manetta for State Representative in District 58. As a former School Board member, City Councilwoman, County Commissioner, and current State Senator, I know that we need elected officials who are clear-headed in their resolve to make choices that will help people get ahead, support our education system, and support local government in providing top notch services to residents. I know Katrina will be an excellent State Representative, and I hope others join me in supporting her.”

State Senator Stephanie Chang pointed to Manetta’s organizing background and impact in the community.

“I spent nearly a decade as a community organizer before I set foot in the legislature, so when I see real, effective organizing, I recognize it. What Katrina Manetta has built in Macomb County is the real thing. She grew Macomb Defenders Rising from a small group that met in her basement in Shelby Township into a genuine community force making an impact because she listened, stayed focused, and refused to quit. Macomb County needs exactly this kind of determined leadership that can make change for Michiganders struggling to make ends meet, and I’m proud to endorse Katrina Manetta for State Representative.”

Sterling Heights Councilman and former State Representative Henry Yanez highlighted Manetta’s readiness to deliver results.

“I know this district, and I know what it takes to deliver the results we need from Lansing. Katrina Manetta is grounded, prepared, and ready to fight for working families from day one. She’ll work hard to win this race and even harder as our State Representative. Katrina Manetta is my choice to serve us in Lansing.”

Warren City Council Vice President Melody Magee emphasized Manetta’s presence in the community.

“What I’ve seen from Katrina Manetta is simple: she’s here. Not just at the rallies or the press conferences but she’s at the community meetings, at the doors, and at the events that don’t make the news. That matters to me. Public service is about showing up for people, and Katrina has been doing that long before she announced a campaign. The residents of this district deserve someone who already knows them, and who has been fighting for them. That’s Katrina. I’m proud to stand with her.”

Manetta, a lifelong resident of the district and community organizer, has built her campaign around addressing the everyday challenges facing working families and making government more accountable to the people it serves.

“I’m grateful to have the support of leaders who have dedicated their careers to serving this community,” said Manetta. “This campaign is about showing up, listening, and doing the work to make sure people here have someone in Lansing who understands their lives and is focused on getting results.”
