STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich., Sept. 11, 2026 — Katrina Manetta, Democratic candidate for Michigan’s 58th House District, today announced eight new endorsements from organizations representing working people, educators, retirees, issue advocates, and Democratic leaders at the local and national levels.
The new endorsements come from AFSCME Wayne County Retirees Sub-Chapter 38, AFT Michigan, the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee, End Gun Violence Michigan Action, Greater Than PAC, Jane Fonda Climate PAC, the Official Democratic Black Caucus of Macomb County, and UFCW Local 876.
The latest support includes three organizations rooted in the labor movement. UFCW Local 876 represents more than 18,000 Michigan workers in grocery and retail stores, food processing, health care, pharmacies, and other industries. AFT Michigan represents educators and school health care workers, across the state, while AFSCME Wayne County Retirees Sub-Chapter 38 advocates for retired public servants.
Manetta also earned the backing of several organizations focused on building political power at the state and local levels. The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC) leads national Democratic efforts to win state legislative races and has named Michigan’s 58th District one of its targeted races for 2026. The Jane Fonda Climate PAC works to elect climate-conscious leaders at the state and local levels. The Greater Than PAC is a women-led organization that pools contributions from everyday donors to invest in state and local candidates, with a particular focus on politically competitive communities. End Gun Violence Michigan Action works through candidate endorsements, voter education, and political engagement to elect leaders committed to preventing gun violence. The Official Democratic Black Caucus of Macomb County works to elevate the concerns of Black residents, expand political participation, and elect Democrats who will represent those communities.
“These endorsements come from people and organizations doing very different work, but they share a belief that government should make life better for the people it serves,” Manetta said. “That means standing up for working people, giving our kids strong schools, keeping our communities safe, protecting Michigan’s clean air and water, and making sure every person has a voice in their government. I’m a service worker and community organizer, not a career politician. I’m running to bring that practical, people-first perspective to Lansing, and I’m grateful to have this broad group of supporters behind us.”
The DLCC’s investment places Manetta’s campaign within a national effort to compete for control of state legislatures in 2026. The organization has identified the 58th District as one of its Michigan target races as Democrats seek to regain a majority in the Michigan House.
Manetta, a lifelong Macomb County resident, service worker, and community organizer, is running on a platform focused on lowering costs for working families, strengthening public safety and education, protecting workers’ rights, and delivering practical solutions rooted in local experience.
Michigan’s 58th House District includes parts of Sterling Heights, Warren, Utica and Shelby Township and is widely considered one of the most competitive districts in the state.
