STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich., Sept. 4, 2026 — Katrina Manetta, Democratic candidate for Michigan’s 58th State House District, today announced the endorsement of former state Rep. Nate Shannon, who represented the district before incumbent Republican Ron Robinson won the seat in 2024.
Shannon, a former teacher who served in the State House from 2019 to 2025, said voters are looking for a new generation of leaders who understand their communities and are focused on the issues affecting people’s everyday lives.
“I’m proud to support Katrina Manetta because she represents the kind of strong, community-focused leadership we need in Lansing,” Shannon said. “Having represented this district for six years, I know what it takes to fight for the people who live here and deliver results for our communities. Katrina has the energy, determination, and understanding of the issues facing working families to be an effective voice from day one. She’s already doing the work, building relationships, and showing that she’ll put people ahead of politics. I know this district, I care deeply about its future, and I’m confident Katrina is the right person to represent the 58th District.”

Michigan’s 58th House District includes parts of Sterling Heights, Warren, Utica and Shelby Township and is widely considered one of the most competitive districts in the state.
